Real-Time Peer-to-Peer Support:
Our highly engaged patient and caregiver communities provide invaluable, real-time peer-to-peer support and feedback. This supportive, constructive culture fosters critical expertise that only comes from grounded, lived experience. This expertise uniquely aids in developing both response and prevention strategies.
Equip and Empower
Enhancing and Aligning Effective Response:
We work relentlessly to better equip and empower patients, enhancing their capacity to understand, engage with, and respond effectively from the moment of diagnosis. By aligning their medical and support teams with this effort, we create a synchronised foundation aimed at positive outcomes. This approach positions patients to fully engage with the latest advancements, including genomic profiling and clinical trials, preparing them for impactful next steps.

Increased Understanding, Increases Effective Engagement, Enhancing Survival:
We ensure the latest medical science and cutting-edge knowledge are fully utilised and implemented into today’s patient toolkit, simplifying complex information into formats that patients and caregivers can understand, engage with, and act upon.

Schedule of Events and Symposiums Coming soon,
- Below is an outline – overview
World Cholangiocarcinoma Day
What is World Cholangiocarcinoma Day is an international awareness day dedicated to raising the profile of cholangiocarcinoma (bile duct cancer) and supporting those affected by this aggressive disease.
Light Australia Green – ‘Green-Themed Green Chair Events’
Light Australia Green represents Australia’s take on this global initiative. Each February iconic landmarks across the nation will be lit in green, symbolising hope, action, and community solidarity for patients, families, and healthcare professionals. By bringing communities together under the green glow, we drive awareness, galvanise action, and work towards improved outcomes.
Hospital-Hosted Symposiums
Every State: Includes City and Regional Locations
We are actively seeking funding partners and hospitals to host symposiums that bring together hospitals, healthcare providers, medical and allied professionals, researchers, patients, caregivers, and advocates.
These symposiums are centered around the workings of an MDT (Multidisciplinary Team), where three anonymised example cases are presented by a medical professional, such as an oncologist. An MDT of 3-5 professionals will then present their perspectives, contributing to a collaborative plan of action. This approach provides insights into how MDTs work together to create optimal patient care strategies.
In addition, these events offer an opportunity for nurse orientation regarding the foundation’s initiatives, as well as meaningful engagement with patients and caregivers.
Our CCF-trained Hospital Ambassadors will co-run these events, collaborating with the symposium team and the hospital that provides the venue and infrastructure to ensure effective and seamless execution.
CCF State Professional Orientations
Stay Tuned: Every State (Including City and Regional Locations)
These ‘Professional Friday Events’ will be structured as luncheon-style gatherings, fostering inter-professional visibility and collaboration among specialists in bile duct and bile-related cancers, alongside the foundation.
The foundation will host and facilitate this centralisation—updating participants on our global initiatives, sharing the latest knowledge, and driving discussions focused on enhancing response strategies and patient outcomes. These events also provide an opportunity for casual, relaxed discussions and industry presentations, encouraging informal yet impactful exchanges of ideas.
Guest speakers will include professionals from diverse specialties, presentations on breakthrough case studies, allied professionals, and industry leaders—all united by the common goal of advancing care and treatment for cholangiocarcinoma and related conditions.
CCF Australia Annual Conference
The Inaugural CCF Australia Annual Conference
September 2025 or 2026
Helping Patients and Their Professionals Help Themselves
The inaugural CCF Australia Annual Conference is set to redefine engagement in bile duct and bile-related cancer care. As a uniquely patient-led event, this conference places patients and caregivers at the centre of every initiative, ensuring their voices and responsibilities are integrated at all levels—from healthcare delivery to research development.
Our Approach: Integrity in Patient and Professional Empowerment
Our approach is grounded in the integrity of patient empowerment, where we believe: Empower the Patient – Increase Their Survival; Empower Their Community – Exponentially Empower Survivorship. To fully achieve this, we strive to empower the science, research, healthcare, medical, and allied professionals who underpin this vision.
Built on Enhanced Response Strategies
The conference is built on equipping and empowering both patients and the professionals that serve them, focusing on developing and sharing Enhanced Response Strategies—actionable plans that enable patients to understand and effectively engage in their treatment journey. This approach unites patients, caregivers, healthcare professionals, allied professionals, researchers, and industry leaders to foster collaboration and drive real breakthroughs in survival outcomes.
A Movement, Not Just a Meeting
Our mission is to foster understanding and active collaboration among both patients and professionals, ensuring every stakeholder takes accountability and contributes to the common goal: enhancing the patient’s capacity to respond effectively. Patients are not merely passengers; they are co-pilots, actively shaping their treatment pathways alongside healthcare professionals, industry experts, and researchers.
This conference is more than a gathering—it’s a movement towards impactful, patient-centred cancer response strategies that drive genuine improvements in survival and quality of life.
Why Attend?
- For Professionals: Contribute to a transformative effort where your expertise directly impacts patient care. Collaborate with other leaders and learn cutting-edge techniques that are immediately actionable.
